Materials: Copper, brass, plexi glass, seeds Dimensions: 4 in. x 1 in. x 1 in. Each ring contains seeds to the corresponding plant on the ring (canola, soy, corn, cotton). As the plant grows, or the ring gets turned pushing the seed upwards, the seeds are smashed into a piece of plexi glass preventing them from being used again. Photo credit: Artist Erika A Uzmann Chicago, IL. USA Through research and experimentation, my work focuses on the ‘unnatural’ aspects of the food industry. This ranges from the unnatural treatment of animals to the growing industrialization of the farming industry. We are so far removed from where we began with agriculture in this country that consuming meat has become a battle of ethics, politics, health and the environment.
